Description

The perfect loafer last. Almost a year of development went into the loafer last, but we cannot think of anything else to improve. Fitting true to size, the loafer last has a more narrow heel for extra grip, slim waist and lower volume under the vamp for an improved no-lace fit. The toe shape can best be described as an almond toe, with inspiration drawn from bespoke samples and made by the talented lastmakers at Springline, Northampton. We have received nothing but high praise from our customers, so make sure to try it.

The Sons of Henrey Penny loafer, made on our dedicated Loafer last, is your perfect companion for spring, summer, and even autumn. Goodyear welted by experienced craftsmen in Almansa, Spain, it is elegant as well as versatile.

At Sons of Henrey, we have become known for our incredible choice of leather. As one of the few brands that do, Sons of Henrey offers the infamous Utah calf leather. This supple, soft grained calf leather comes from the French Tannerie Haas. The hides are sourced locally, and are characterised by the tightness of their grain. The hides are vegetable tanned, which means that the leather will have the chance to age over time. A mixture of different fats are added to the leather, which gives Utah calf its famous suppleness.

Product features include:

  • Goodyear welted in Spain
  • Made from Brown Utah calf
  • Genuine leather insole
  • Cork footbed and metal shank
  • Leather board heel counter
  • Chestnut bark tanned leather outsole
  • Bevelled sole edge

Do you like this shoe but you would prefer to order it in a different colour? Or is your size out of stock? Consider placing an order through our Sons of Henrey Made To Order program. With this program, you can order any Sons of Henrey model, in the leather of your choice. Contact us by email at sales@sonsofhenrey.com or through the contact page here.

We advise you to take the same as you would in Carmina or Crockett & Jones. Size down half a size from your Edward Green or Gaziano & Girling size, and size up half a size from your Carlos Santos size.

Care

Keep your shoes free from dirt in between wears by brushing the upper and the welt area with a coarse brush. If your shoes are particularly dirty, use a damp rag. Untreated leather will dry out over time and become brittle. Regular application of a natural leather conditioner is recommended to keep leather supple and hydrated. Apply conditioner with a cotton rag and brush off with a soft brush.
