As one of the few brands that do, Sons of Henrey offers Utah grain calf leather. This supple, soft grained calf leather comes from Tannerie Haas in France, a tannery that has been making leather since the mid 1800's.

The hides are sourced locally, and are characterised by the tightness of their grain. The hides are vegetable tanned, which means that the leather will have the chance to age over time. A mixture of different fats are added to the leather, which gives Utah calf its famous suppleness.

Sons of Henrey uses Utah grain mostly for a more casual, soft shoe. It was the preferred choice for our split toe derby, and will be used for Chelsea boots, as well as Derby shoes.
