In early April 2025 President Donald Trump signed a sweeping Executive Order introducing a 10% universal tariff on most imports, effective April 5. Higher “reciprocal” rates for select trade partners followed on April 9, marking a significant shift in U.S. trade policy.
However, these tariffs do not affect American customers shopping from the EU, provided the total order value stays under the $800 de minimis threshold. This regulation allows goods shipped to the U.S. for personal use to enter duty-free and tariff-free, as long as the total declared value (excluding shipping and insurance) is $800 or less. It applies to most consumer goods, including shoes, clothing, and accessories.
That means when you order from an EU-based retailer like Sons of Henrey, and your total is under $800, you can shop confidently—no surprise import fees at delivery.
We sell a large portion of our shoes to U.S. customers. If you have any questions before ordering, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
